Preparing Your Pet For Boarding

Our boarding facility is a place where all of your pet’s needs are taken care of, including medical care as required and plenty of play time and belly rubs. We welcome you to take a tour, meet our staff, and ask questions. In the meantime, here are some tips on preparing your pet to be boarded.
Get Your Pet Vaccinated
Make sure your pet is up-to-date at least 2 weeks before he is scheduled to arrive at the clinic. This includes rabies, parvo, and Bordetella for dogs, and feline leukemia for cats.
Visit the Facility
Whichever facility you choose, be sure to visit the facility and meet the staff. Ask questions regarding their experience and interactions they'll be having with your pet. Ensure that the space is clean and hygienic. The crates and equipment should be well maintained and in good working order. Check for outdoor and play areas.
Have a Health Check Up
Be sure to take your pet to a vet for a full exam ahead of being boarded to ensure it's healthy enough for its stay.
Consider a Trial Run
It's always a good idea to take your pet for a trial run before you leave for your trip. This will give your pet a chance to get used to the space and staff, as well as alert you to any anxiety or stress.
Assemble a Bag
Most boarding facilities encourage you to bring a small bag filled with some of your pet's favorite things. This could include toys, a blanket, treats, and any medication your pet may take. You may also pack a brush and comb, toothbrush, and toothpaste.
